Video Equipment

We consider ourselves amateurs in our video production. This equipment helps us look more skilled than we actually are!

Canon 70D

This camera is perfect for our needs. It is well built and tough, and can handle our abuse easily. It has a jack for an external microphone and monitor. The screen can swing clear around and face forward. It has a fast auto focus, and takes beautiful still photos. I'm sure there are a zillion features that we don't use, but it covers the basics very nicely. I don't see any reason to ever change cameras.

Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 Art Lens

This is the lens we use when shooting in the shop. The wide angle, and f1.8 aperture are perfect in the low light setting of the shop. The lens can zoom, is built like a Sherman tank, and has completely changed the look of our videos. Thanks to Casey Bluth for the recommendation. The lens was expensive but we expect it will work for us for years and years.

Rode RodeLink FM Lav Mic

This little mic has completely solved the audio issues we struggle with for a long time It has proven to be reliable, durable, easy to use, and we find the audio to be very high quality.
